Absa Life will pay the accidental death benefit into your nominated beneficiary’s account on the unfortunate event of your accidental death.
Keep your Beneficiary’s details up to date so that a claim is easy to pay.
The accidental death means death which is due to a violent, sudden and external event beyond your control. This event must occur at a time and place that can be identified and results in your death within 1 (one) year after the event.
The following lump sum benefit will be paid to your nominated beneficiary.

When will we pay your Benefit:
This Benefit will be available to from the date that you have registered for the SAPay App,
and for every month thereafter you must satisfy the following conditions:
No claim will be paid if you fail to meet the qualifying criteria at the time of the insured event. The Life Assured can only be covered once per insured event.
How to claim
To claim, your beneficiary must send an email to creditlifeclaims@absa.co.za, call 0860 227
253 or visit any Absa branch to confirm the required documentation.
Submission of claims:
A claim must be submitted within a year as we may not pay if a Claimant submits a claim more
than a year after the Insured Event occurred.

If your query has not been resolved or you are not satisfied with the outcome regarding a query or claim, an escalation can be sent in writing to the Complaints Resolution Committee at absalifecrc@absa.co.za or PO Box 421, Johannesburg, 2000.
